I remember going to Beijing in high school for a foreign exchange trip and driving by this building. There are many large, impressive skyscrapers in Beijing's business district, however the CCTV building is truly stunning. I remember seeing it and thinking, "this is the future". This is the kind of building that futurists would've imagined 40-50 years ago. It looks impossible - kind of like an optical illusion - but it stands on its own and looks magnificent doing so. A very cool building to get to see in person.
