(10) Villa Savoye - Trevor Morse

Villa Savoye was constructed in 1929 and was completed two years later in 1931. The home was designed by Swiss architect Le Corbusier and his cousin Pierre Jeanneret. Located just outside of Paris, France, the area is no stranger to elegant architecture, however the home is one of the more modernist style of homes in the area, made of reinforced concrete and steel. The home is currently owned by the French Government as it is viewed as a historic landmark. The home itself is raised off of the ground and in a perfect square shape to provide optimum views for the dwellers inside the home.During construction many design changes were made ultimately doubling the starting budget. Today the home can be seen around the world in many imitations and replicas that pay homage to this historical structure and he significance it had on modern architecture.
