The Basket House is actually the headquarters for the Longaberger Company, a manufacturer and distributor of handcrafted maple wood baskets. Located in Newark, Ohio, this building has become a local landmark. It takes the shape of the company's best selling item, the medium market basket.
The building is made of stucco over a steel structure. The handles are 150 tons and are able to be heated to prevent ice damage. As seen below, there is a skylight on top of the building that lets light in to the seven floor 30,000 square foot atrium.
