5) The Piano House - Taylor Johnson

The Piano House is located in Huainan City, An Hui Province, China and wasbuilt in 2007 by architectural students at Hefei University of Technology. It contains a transparent violin and a piano building. The violin acts as the entry way,and includes a staircase toward the piano house upstairs. This building was built for music lovers and acts as a performance and practicing place for music students from the local college in Huainan City, in east China. It also displays various city plans and development prospects in an effort to draw interest into the recently developed area.

I like this building because it can be utilized in different ways. Obviously it is a place for music lovers to come and practice or just listen to others play but it can also be a place for outdoor events and picnics since the bottom is open. Also, as it says above those that built the Piano House are trying to draw interest in development from the locals by displaying plans inside.
